Opening of Montreal’s First Social Thermal Station RECESS in Griffintown
I had such a wonderful time at the opening of RECESS Montréal’s first social thermal station in Griffintown. Their guided 75-minute circuit coliseum-style sauna, cold plunge, and immersive lounge is so thoughtfully designed that you’re in and out quickly while still getting a full therapeutic reset.
As a chef I always notice aromatics first and their ginger + yuzu infusion in the sauna was unforgettable bright, spicy, fresh, warming, and grounding all at once. I also loved the rosemary. The sauna at RECESS thermal station in Montreal features a soothing aromatherapy infusion that enhances relaxation and promotes holistic wellness, perfectly complementing the thermal experience.
Thermotherapy, the therapeutic application of heat, promotes muscle relaxation, improves blood circulation, and alleviates pain, making it an effective natural approach to enhancing overall well-being.
Cold plunge therapy enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, and accelerates muscle recovery, making it a valuable complement to a wholesome, active lifestyle promoted by sustainable gastronomy.
Meeting co-founder Marilyne Gagné was such a pleasure she’s created something Montréal truly needed: a place to slow down, socialize a little bit, and recharge. Highly recommend you experience it for yourself.
